Article 50 of the EU AI Act came into force on 2 August 2026. It requires any AI system that generates content intended for humans to disclose this at the point of output. What it actually means for your investor materials is more nuanced than the headline suggests.

The plain-English version

If an AI system generates a pitch deck, a board update, or a customer-facing report, and a human will read it without knowing it was AI-generated, Article 50 requires a disclosure. The disclosure must be machine-readable and human-readable.
