How we work

How We Research and Verify.

We research and verify four things: the market, your buyers, your competitors and trends. Every finding links to a named, dated source and is graded A to E, and a named person signs the final answer.

Four angles

The four things we check.

A decision that looks right from one angle can fail from another. We look at all four before we answer, and we show you what each one found.

Angle 1

Market

How big the opportunity really is, what buyers pay today, and any rules or regulation that shape it.

  • Size, honestly measured
  • What buyers pay today
  • Rules that shape it

Angle 2

Buyers

Who buys, what problem they are paying to solve, how they decide and who else is in the room.

  • Who actually buys
  • The problem they pay for
  • How the decision is made

Angle 3

Competitors

The alternatives your buyer is weighing (including doing nothing), and what those alternatives claim and charge.

  • Named alternatives
  • Doing nothing, too
  • What they claim and charge

Angle 4

Trends

What is changing in your market, how fast, and whether it helps or hurts the decision in front of you.

  • What is changing
  • How fast
  • Helps or hurts you

Evidence grades

Every claim gets a grade, A to E.

The grade tells you how much weight a claim can carry. It is set by the evidence behind it: how many sources, how authoritative, how recent and how much they agree. It never moves up because a claim is repeated, appears in a prompt, or is restated by a model.

  1. Grade A: Corroborated

Multiple high-authority, recent, independent sources fully corroborate the claim.

Can carry a decision-critical claim on its own.

  2. Grade B: Authoritative

One or two authoritative, recent sources; no significant contradictions.

Strong support. Named and dated in the deliverable.

  3. Grade C: Partial

Credible but older than 12 months, or partial coverage; minor contradictions.

Used with the gap stated. Never dressed up as A or B.

  4. Grade D: Weak

Weak sources, significant gaps, or major contradictions present.

Directional at best. Flagged wherever it appears.

  5. Grade E: Speculation

Speculation only: no retrieved evidence behind the claim.

Named as speculation. Never used as support.

The grade follows the evidence. If a key number is missing, the finding is graded C or D and says so. Inference and hypotheses are labelled as such and never cited as support for a decision-critical claim.

From question to signed answer

How a brief moves, in five steps.

You can see each step and trace each source. The verifier takes every brief through all five, and every paid deliverable carries a person’s name.

  1. Day 0

    Agree the Question

We confirm the decision or asset to check, what you will send us and when you will hear back.

  2. Research

    Gather Named Sources

Primary sources first (registries, filings, buyer evidence, pricing pages), each named and dated.

  3. Test

    Look for Evidence Against

Every important claim is tested against the strongest counter-evidence we can find and graded A to E.

  4. Decide

    Reach a Plain Answer

Go, Go With Conditions, Change Course, Stop or Wait, with the reasons and what to test next.

  5. Sign

    Check, Sign and Deliver

The verifier personally re-checks every decision-critical and high-impact claim, then signs. AI use is disclosed.

What you get back

The five answers you can get.

Each answer comes with the reasons, the evidence behind them and what to test next. If the evidence says Stop, we say Stop.

  1. Go The evidence supports the move as planned.
  2. Go With Conditions Proceed once the named gaps are closed.
  3. Change Course The goal holds; the route does not.
  4. Stop The evidence is against it. We say so.
  5. Wait Too early to call. We tell you what to watch.

Frequently asked

Questions About Our Method

What does "signed" mean?
A named verifier checks the evidence, decides the verdict and puts their name to every paid deliverable. If they will not sign it, it does not ship.
Does a person check every claim?
Every claim is checked and graded, and the verifier personally re-checks every decision-critical and high-impact claim before signing.
How do you use AI?
We use AI models from established providers to speed up research and drafting. People make the calls, and each paid deliverable carries an AI-use disclosure. See our AI Transparency page.
What if you get something wrong?
If any factual claim in a signed deliverable is not supported by its cited source, or is a factual error we should have caught, tell us within 30 days. We correct and re-sign it within 5 working days; if the correction changes the verdict, we redo it free; if we cannot fix it, you do not pay for that deliverable. We also publish the correction on our Errata page.
What are the possible answers?
Go, Go With Conditions, Change Course, Stop or Wait. Each comes with the reasons and the evidence behind it, and a Stop is given as plainly as a Go.
Can I see what a deliverable looks like before I buy?
Yes. Every service has a sample in the real report format, built from an anonymised engagement. See Sample Reports.
