Gripped and ThriveFinity both write positioning, build websites and work on AI search. On paper that's a lot of overlap. In practice you'd hire them for quite different reasons.
Gripped is a London agency that works only with B2B SaaS and tech companies, on rolling monthly retainers, and runs the marketing with you month after month. We sell fixed-price pieces of work with a defined output, and then you run them.
This page sets out what each of us publishes, where Gripped is the better choice, and how I'd decide between a retainer team and a fixed build. Where Gripped's pages are silent, the table says "not stated".
Facts about Gripped come from its own website, its own YouTube channels and Companies House, all checked on 10 October 2026. Prices and services change, so check its site before you decide. ThriveFinity isn't affiliated with Gripped.
A Retainer Team or a Fixed Build
The main difference between Gripped and ThriveFinity is the shape of the engagement: an ongoing team on a monthly fee, or a fixed scope at a fixed price. Here's each in a paragraph.
Gripped describes itself on its homepage as "a B2B digital marketing agency specialising exclusively in SaaS and AI". Its menu lists twelve services, from Strategy and Demand Generation to Paid Search, LinkedIn Ads, SEO, GEO and SaaS website design. Its origin story says the founders started the agency in 2017, and Companies House lists Gripped Ltd as active, incorporated on 30 August 2017, with a registered office in London SE1.
ThriveFinity sells fixed-price projects. The one that overlaps most with Gripped is the Go-to-Market Build: a positioning audit and messaging framework, then a 5-page website, a 20-slide sales deck and a 3-email sequence written from it, in 10 days. We also sell AI search work. It's a one-person company, and every paid deliverable is signed by a named verifier.
One more difference matters before anything else. Gripped's homepage FAQ says it "doesn't work with e-commerce, consumer brands, or generalist B2B", and that it works with SaaS and tech companies "at Series A through growth stage, typically £2M to £50M ARR". If you're outside that, the choice is partly made for you.
Side-by-Side Comparison
The table lines up what each provider publishes on the same twelve points. Gripped's column quotes or summarises its own pages as they read on 10 October 2026.
| Gripped | ThriveFinity | |
|---|---|---|
| How it describes itself | "A B2B digital marketing agency specialising exclusively in SaaS and AI" (homepage description) | A fixed-scope studio. A named verifier signs every paid deliverable |
| Who it works with | B2B SaaS and tech companies "at Series A through growth stage, typically £2M to £50M ARR". Not "e-commerce, consumer brands, or generalist B2B" | B2B companies "with a real offer that buyers aren't converting on" (Go-to-Market Build page). Not limited to software |
| Service lines | Strategy, Demand Generation, Lead Generation, ABM, Paid Search, Paid Social, LinkedIn Ads, Earned Social, SEO, GEO, SaaS Website Design and Dev, Landing Page Design and Dev | AI Visibility, Offer Validation, Go-to-Market Build and Decision Brief. No paid media, no link buying |
| Positioning and messaging | Part of its Strategy service: "A clear positioning statement" and "Key messaging frameworks for campaigns, sales decks, and website content", with a 90-day plan in 30-day sprints | Go-to-Market Build: positioning audit and messaging framework, then a 5-page website, a 20-slide deck and a 3-email sequence written from it |
| AI search (GEO) work | GEO audit, content architecture, entity and authority building, structured data, monitoring. Audit covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude | Retrofit: 100 to 150 buyer questions across five AI tools, your 10 highest-value pages fixed, 5 briefs for new pages, re-test at day 30 |
| How GEO is tracked | "AI mention frequency, citation sources, brand description accuracy, and LLM referral traffic trends" | Each question asked 3 times in each AI tool, against 3 to 5 competitors, before and after |
| Prices published | Engagement models "From £3,500/month + project fees", "From £7,500 /month" and "From £15,000 /month". Media spend extra. Website projects £18k to £150k+ | AI Visibility: Diagnostic £349, Retrofit £1,950, Retainer £1,950 a month. Go-to-Market Build £3,999. Decision Brief £749 |
| Engagement model | Monthly retainer worked in 30-day sprints. One-off projects "if you have specific needs" | Fixed-price projects. The Build is 50% deposit, the rest on delivery |
| Contract terms | "Rolling monthly contracts (three-month notice period)". A one-time onboarding fee is typical (amount not stated) | Build: one fixed fee, no ongoing term. AI Visibility Retainer: 3-month minimum, then 30 days’ notice |
| Time to first GEO signals it states | First signals "typically emerge within three to six months of a structured programme" | Re-test at day 30 on the same questions. No promise that any AI tool will name you |
| Guarantee | Not stated | Build: full refund if you show us an unsupported claim or factual error within 30 days. AI Visibility: report fee refunded for a factual error |
| Base and size | London SE1. Founded in 2017. Its homepage FAQ says "approximately 25 staff" | One-person company registered in Chennai, India, serving B2B companies in the UK and elsewhere |
"Not stated" means the pages we checked didn't say. It doesn't mean the provider doesn't offer it. Ask them. Gripped's media spend is paid separately to the platforms. Our prices exclude applicable taxes.
What Gripped Publishes About Its Work
Gripped publishes its pricing models and contract terms, which makes it easier to compare fairly. Its pricing page sets out three engagement models: Advisory or Execution "From £3,500/month + project fees", Performance "From £7,500 /month" for one or two channels, and Scale "From £15,000 /month", where it says "We become your outsourced marketing team."
The same page says "A typical investment is £5K-£15K per month for strategic execution across core channels." Paid media budgets aren't included, and it gives typical ad budgets of £5,000 to £150,000 or more a month. Website work is quoted separately, with a "Basic Refresh: £18k–£45k" and a "Full Redesign: £45k–£150k+". It also says it typically charges "a one-time onboarding fee" for setup, audits and discovery.
On terms, its homepage FAQ is clear: "Retainers run on rolling monthly contracts (three-month notice period)". It works in 30-day sprints with monthly reporting tied to pipeline measures like MQLs, SQLs, CAC and opportunity value. And its FAQ says "Most clients use Gripped to extend an internal team of 1–3 people."
Gripped also offers a free audit as a first step. Its own short video walks through one, and it's the fairest way to see how it works before you speak to it:
Positioning and Go-to-Market: The Overlap
Both firms will write your positioning and messaging, but Gripped does it as the first stage of an ongoing retainer, and we do it as the first stage of a fixed build. The outputs look similar on paper. What happens next is different.
Gripped's strategy page lists discovery, audience definition, positioning and messaging, a strategic roadmap and measurement. The outputs it names include "A clear positioning statement", "Key messaging frameworks for campaigns, sales decks, and website content", and a "90-day plan (broken into 3×30-day sprints)", plus a longer roadmap. Its team then runs the campaigns from that plan.
Gripped also has a short explainer on what it means by a go-to-market strategy. The video has no description on YouTube, so I'll let it speak for itself:
Our Go-to-Market Build starts in the same place, with a positioning audit and a messaging framework tested against your competitors and your buyers' own language. Then we build the assets from it: the 5-page website, the 20-slide deck and the 3 emails, so all three describe the same company. Every claim in them is sourced and signed. It's done in 10 days, and then it's yours to run, with your team or with an agency.
That consistency matters more than it sounds. Buyers now do most of their deciding before they talk to anyone. A 6sense study of nearly 4,000 B2B buyers, a fifth of them in the UK and Ireland, found buying groups filled four of their five shortlist spots on day one, and 94% "ranked their shortlist vendors according to preference before contacting any vendor". CustomerThink's summary reports the figures.
| Shortlist spots filled on day one (4 of 5) | 80% |
|---|---|
| Ranked the shortlist before contacting any vendor | 94% |
| Made first contact with vendors themselves | 79% |
| Bought from their top-ranked vendor | 77% |
Source: David Dodd, CustomerThink, summarising the 6sense 2025 B2B Buyer Experience study, 30 November 2025. Nearly 4,000 buyer responses, 20% from the UK and Ireland. 6sense sells B2B marketing software, so treat the figures as directional. Chart by ThriveFinity.
The same summary says buyers first contacted sellers when they were 61% of the way through their buying process. So your site, your deck and what AI tools say about you are doing the selling long before a sales call. Whoever writes your positioning, make sure all three say the same thing.
AI Search: How Each One Approaches GEO
Gripped runs GEO as an ongoing programme, usually alongside SEO and demand generation. We run it as a fixed-scope Retrofit with a re-test, and an optional monthly Retainer after that.
Gripped's GEO page describes five parts: a GEO audit, content architecture, entity and authority building, structured data and schema, and monitoring. Its audit covers "how your company is currently described by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude across your primary category queries". It says it monitors "AI mention frequency, citation sources, brand description accuracy, and LLM referral traffic trends", and that the first measurable signals "typically emerge within three to six months". On price, it says a GEO-only programme "sits toward the lower end" of its £5,000 to £15,000 monthly range.
I'd agree with a lot of that page. It says "GEO is not a replacement for SEO", and that thin content written for AI rarely works. Forrester's State of Business Buying, 2026 backs the starting point: "genAI searches are the starting point for B2B buyers", while the typical buying decision now involves 13 internal stakeholders and nine external influencers.
Both approaches lean on what other sites say about you. Tim Soulo shared Ahrefs research on that in June 2025:
"Branded web mentions" was a clear winner with a correlation of 0.664.
The difference is how the work is bought and measured. Our Retrofit asks each of 100 to 150 buyer questions 3 times in each of five AI tools, against 3 to 5 named competitors, fixes your 10 highest-value pages, and re-runs exactly the same questions at day 30. You can see the format in our sample AI visibility report, and the full scope is on our AI visibility service page.
Here's what that gap can look like from the inside, in one founder's post on Reddit:
Asked ChatGPT to list tools in our space and it named five competitors, one of which I've genuinely never heard of.
That's one person's experience, not proof of anything. But it's the kind of result a baseline turns into a number you can act on.
When Gripped Is the Better Choice
Gripped is the better choice when you're a B2B SaaS or tech company past product-market fit and you need a team to run demand generation every month. These are the situations where I'd point you there rather than to us.
- You're a SaaS or tech company between roughly £2m and £50m ARR. That's who its pages say it's built for, and its whole service menu is shaped around software buying.
- You need paid media run for you. It manages Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and paid social. We don't run campaigns at all.
- You want ABM, lead generation and marketing operations. Its retainers include attribution, lead scoring, automation and sales alignment.
- You have a small marketing team that needs more hands. Its FAQ describes extending internal teams of one to three people with strategists, paid media specialists, SEO and GEO experts, writers and developers.
- You need a large custom website. Its website projects run from a basic refresh to a full redesign with custom development and integrations. Our Build is a 5-page site.
- You want GEO run inside a wider programme. Its GEO page says most clients run it alongside SEO or demand generation.
The trade-off is commitment. Rolling monthly contracts with three months' notice suit an ongoing programme. They're a bigger step if what you need is a single, defined fix.
When ThriveFinity Is the Better Choice
We're the better choice when you need a defined piece of go-to-market or AI search work, at a fixed price, delivered and then handed over.
- You're a B2B company outside software and tech, such as a professional services firm, which Gripped's GEO page says it doesn't work with.
- Your positioning is the problem, and you want the site, deck and emails rebuilt from one message in 10 days, then run them yourself or with whoever you already use.
- You'd rather pay one fixed fee than commit to a monthly retainer with a notice period.
- You want AI search treated as a measured project first: a baseline, fixes, and a re-test on the same questions.
- You want every claim in your materials sourced and signed, with a refund if we get one wrong.
If you're not sure yet whether the problem is your positioning or your channels, a Decision Brief (£749) works through that first, and its fee is credited to a Build booked within 30 days.
How to Decide
Work out whether your problem is the message or the volume, then pick the engagement shape that fits. A retainer agency is built for volume and ongoing execution. A fixed build is built for getting the message right once.
- Can a stranger read your homepage and say what you do and who it's for? If not, fix positioning before you buy more traffic.
- Do your site, deck and emails describe the same company? If they don't, more campaigns will spread the confusion further.
- Do you have someone in-house to run campaigns once the assets exist? If yes, a fixed build may be enough. If no, you need a team.
- Are you a SaaS or tech company within Gripped's stated range? If not, its pages say it isn't the right fit.
- What's the total monthly cost, including media spend, tools and any onboarding fee? Get it in writing.
- What's the minimum term and notice period, and what exactly is delivered in month one?
- For AI search, which questions are tracked, how many times each is run, and when is the re-test?
For the longer version of these questions, read our guide to fixed-price go-to-market services. If AI search is the main job, ThriveFinity vs Solvid compares a specialist SEO agency's packages, and ThriveFinity vs Exposure Ninja covers a full-service agency and a fractional CMO.
How We Wrote This Comparison
This page names a competitor, so UK advertising rules apply to it. Section 3 of the CAP Code says a comparison with an identifiable competitor must "compare products meeting the same needs or intended for the same purpose" and must "objectively compare one or more material, relevant, verifiable and representative feature". The same conditions sit in regulation 4 of the Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008, which also bars comparisons that discredit or denigrate a competitor.
So every fact about Gripped links to the page it came from, and every check is dated. I haven't repeated any of its client results, client counts, case-study figures or the statistics it cites from other sources, because I can't verify them and quoting them would only repeat its marketing. Where its pages say nothing, the table says so. You can see what our own deliverables look like on our samples page, and every comparison we publish is on the comparisons hub.

Where ThriveFinity Fits
We fit when you want go-to-market or AI search work as a defined job with a known price. Every price below comes from our published pricing.
- First Signal (free, under an hour): a check on your positioning, with results in under an hour. You can run the free First Signal now.
- Decision Brief (£749): a signed Decision Card on what to do next, credited to a Build booked within 30 days.
- Go-to-Market Build (£3,999, 10 days): positioning audit, messaging framework, a 5-page website, a 20-slide deck and a 3-email sequence, with a signed evidence record. 50% deposit, the rest on delivery, with a 30-day refund guarantee for any unsupported claim or factual error.
- AI Search Readiness Retrofit (£1,950, 10 working days): 100 to 150 buyer questions across five AI tools, 10 pages fixed, 5 briefs, re-test at day 30. Then an optional Retainer at £1,950 a month.
We're not the right choice if you need paid media, ABM or lead generation run every month, if you want an outsourced marketing team, or if you need a large custom website with integrations. A SaaS specialist agency like Gripped will serve you better there. We also won't promise that any AI tool will name you.
And the two aren't mutually exclusive. You can get the positioning right once with us, then hand the site, deck and emails to an agency to scale.
