The GEO Agency and ThriveFinity are both small, specialist firms that sell AI search optimisation. Put our measurement pages side by side and you'll find a lot of the same ideas. Fixed question sets. Named AI tools. Answers saved and dated. Neither of us promises that ChatGPT will name you.
So the choice isn't about who takes measurement seriously. It comes down to what you sell, who buys it, how much of the work away from your website you want done for you, and how you'd like to pay.
This page lines up what each firm publishes. Every fact about The GEO Agency links to its own website or Companies House, and every check is dated. There's also a section on when The GEO Agency is the better pick. For plenty of businesses, it will be.
Facts about The GEO Agency come from its own website and Companies House, checked on 10 October 2026. Prices and services change, so check its site before you decide. ThriveFinity isn't affiliated with The GEO Agency.
Two Specialists, Two Different Shapes
Both firms sell AI search work, but they're built for different buyers and they take on different amounts of the job. Here's each one in a paragraph.
The GEO Agency calls itself "AI Visibility Specialists" on its homepage, under the headline "Your customers are asking AI. We make you the answer." Its menu runs to GEO, AEO, SEO, Build, Reputation, Automation and Consulting, and it runs three sector hubs for travel, property and medical aesthetics. Its About page says it "exists to get small and mid-sized businesses found, named and recommended by AI" and names Ayse Durmush as its founder. Companies House lists The GEO Agency Ltd as an active private limited company, incorporated on 30 March 2026, with a registered office in London.
ThriveFinity sells AI search optimisation for B2B companies as defined pieces of work: a free Signal, a fixed-price Diagnostic and Retrofit, and an optional monthly Retainer. Every price is on the site. It's a one-person company registered in Chennai, India, and every paid report is signed by a named verifier.
Same discipline, then. Different customers, and a different share of the work done for you.

What The GEO Agency Publishes About Its Work
The GEO Agency explains its method in more detail than most agencies do. Its GEO services page lists six parts: a GEO Audit, Entity Optimisation, Content Restructuring, Schema and Structured Data, Citation and Authority Building, and Ongoing Monitoring and Reporting.
The same page describes a four-step engagement that repeats each cycle. Baseline your AI visibility. Find out why. Fix what the engines are tripping on. Then re-run the questions and report citation share. The first step is worth quoting, because it's what I'd want from any provider: "We ask the engines a fixed set of questions a real buyer would ask, and we save every answer verbatim, dated, with the engine named."
The wider service goes well beyond your website. The homepage describes a five-pillar method covering AI Visibility, Reputation and Trust, SEO and Technical, PR and Earned Media, and Links and Authority, and says "We score and work all five, every month." It lists the places it tracks, from the six AI tools to Google Maps, Google Reviews, Trustpilot, TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Reddit, Quora and LinkedIn.
The entry point is clear and priced. Its audit page sells The Baseline™ for £250, described as "the full five-pillar AI visibility audit" across all six AI engines, "human-reviewed", with "your scores, the receipts, and what to fix first". Its FAQ adds that if you'd rather look first, you can start for free with Aurora, its AI visibility software.
What I couldn't find on the pages I checked: prices for its monthly plans, how many questions it tracks, how many times each question is run, a minimum term, or refund terms. None of that is unusual for an agency that scopes plans after a conversation. It just means you'll want those answers in writing.
The GEO Agency also publishes training on its YouTube channel. In this one it explains why it treats a personal brand and a business brand differently when planning AI visibility work. It's a fair, first-hand look at how the firm thinks:
How Each One Measures AI Visibility
Measurement is where The GEO Agency and ThriveFinity are closest. Both use a fixed question set, named AI tools and a repeat run of the same questions to show movement.
The GEO Agency's GEO page has a section headed "What a GEO agency should be measuring, and how often". It lists named engines checked separately, "A fixed question set", verbatim answers saved and dated, and gaps "reported as loudly as wins". It also says plainly that "AI answers fluctuate between runs and between users." I'd sign every line of that.
The fluctuation is bigger than most people expect. In January 2026, SparkToro and Gumshoe reported that 600 volunteers ran 12 prompts through ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI a combined 2,961 times. Rand Fishkin put it as a "<1 in 100 chance that ChatGPT or Google's AI, if asked 100X, will give you the same list of brands in any two responses". The same list in the same order was closer to 1 in 1,000.
So the useful questions are how many questions, how many runs of each, and how often. The GEO Agency says it tracks weekly and shows the results in a client dashboard. Its pages don't give the number of questions or runs per question. We ask 100 to 150 buyer questions 3 times in each of five AI tools, then run the same set again at day 30.
Those are two different strengths. Weekly tracking shows you a trend sooner. More runs per question make each reading steadier. Ask any provider for both numbers before you compare reports.
Rand explains why a visibility rate tells you more than a position in this interview. Watch it before you sit through any GEO pitch, ours included:
One more difference. The GEO Agency tracks Google AI Mode as well as AI Overviews. Our paid work doesn't cover AI Mode at the moment. If your buyers use it, that counts in The GEO Agency's favour.
What GEO Work Actually Changes
Most GEO work comes down to two jobs. One is making your own pages easy for an AI tool to find, read and quote. The other is getting trusted sites elsewhere to say the same things about you. Both firms do the first. The GEO Agency puts more of its service into the second.
The on-page part has some research behind it. The 2024 paper that named the field, GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, tested a set of content changes on a benchmark it built, called GEO-bench, and measured how visible each source became in the generated answers. Adding quotations, statistics and citations did best. Keyword stuffing did worse than changing nothing.
| Quotation addition | 27.2 |
|---|---|
| Statistics addition | 25.2 |
| Fluency optimisation | 24.7 |
| Cite sources | 24.6 |
| No changes (baseline) | 19.3 |
| Keyword stuffing | 17.7 |

Google keeps the bar simpler than many proposals suggest. Its guide to optimising for generative AI features, updated in July 2026, says that "optimizing for generative AI search is optimizing for the search experience, and thus still SEO." It also says "there's no special schema.org markup you need to add." Both firms say GEO builds on SEO, which fits.
The off-site part is slower, and it's where a five-pillar service earns its keep. The GEO Agency's GEO page explains that before naming a business, an engine "looks for agreement elsewhere", and that a claim found only on your own site "carries less weight than the same claim reflected in a directory, a review platform, a press mention or an industry register." For a hotel or a clinic, reviews and listings carry a lot of that weight. For a B2B firm, I'd expect trade press, partner pages and comparison sites to matter more.
The labels matter less than the work. Aleyda Solis, an SEO consultant, said as much in May 2026, and it's worth remembering when two proposals use different names for the same thing:
In practice, I don’t really care what optimizing for AI Search is called: SEO, AI Search Optimization, AEO, GEO, or whatever the new acronym ends up being.
Whatever a provider calls it, ask what will change on your site, what will change off it, and who does each part.
When The GEO Agency Is the Better Choice
The GEO Agency is the better choice when you're a smaller or local business, your customers read reviews before they buy, and you want one team working on everything AI tools read about you. These are the situations where I'd point you there rather than to us.
- You run a hotel, a clinic, an estate agency or a similar local business. It has dedicated hubs for travel, property and medical aesthetics, and its tracking covers Google Maps, Google Reviews, Trustpilot, TripAdvisor and Booking.com. Our question sets are built around B2B buying decisions.
- You want reviews, reputation, PR and links handled for you. Those sit inside its five pillars every month. We don't run review campaigns or digital PR.
- You want a low-cost first audit done by people. The Baseline™ costs £250 and is human-reviewed. Our Diagnostic costs £349.
- Google AI Mode matters to your customers. It tracks AI Mode alongside five other AI tools. We don't track AI Mode yet.
- You want weekly numbers in a dashboard. Its homepage FAQ says you'll see "the answers, the scores and the trend in your client dashboard". We re-measure at day 30, then monthly on the Retainer or quarterly.
- You also want a website, automation or training. It sells website builds and management, AI automation, and consulting that includes workshops and team training.
The trade-off is that its plan prices, minimum term and the size of its question set aren't published. You'll need to agree those in writing.
When ThriveFinity Is the Better Choice
We fit when you sell to other businesses, you want a fixed scope with a known price, and you want a measured before and after. Every price below comes from our published pricing.
- AI Visibility Signal (free, under an hour): 12 buyer questions across GPT (OpenAI), Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, scored 0 to 100. It's automated and unsigned, and you can run the free AI visibility check today.
- Diagnostic (£349, 3 working days): the diagnosis on its own, credited in full to the Retrofit if you book it within 30 days.
- AI Search Readiness Retrofit (£1,950, 10 working days): 100 to 150 buyer questions across five AI tools, against 3 to 5 competitors, your 10 highest-value pages fixed, 5 briefs for new pages, and a re-test at day 30. Signed by a named verifier, with an accuracy guarantee.
- AI Visibility Retainer (£1,950 a month) or Quarterly Re-measurement (£595): after the Retrofit, if you want ongoing work or tracking. The Retainer has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice.
How we run the questions, score answers and check our own reports is set out in our methodology, so you can hold us to it.
We're not the right choice if you need reviews, reputation management, PR or link building done for you, if you're a local or consumer business, or if you want weekly tracking from day one. And we won't promise that any AI tool will name you. Neither will The GEO Agency.
How to Decide
Answer these six questions honestly and the choice usually makes itself. Write the answers down before your first call with either firm.
- Do you sell to other businesses, or to consumers and local customers?
- Does your problem sit on your own website, or in reviews, press and listings elsewhere?
- Do you need a fixed price before you start, or are you happy to agree a plan after a call?
- How many buyer questions matter to you, and how many runs of each will the provider do?
- Which AI tools do your buyers use, and does that list include Google AI Mode?
- What's the minimum term, and what happens if a report gets something wrong?
Then ask Google's questions too. Its page on whether you need an SEO, updated in June 2026, suggests checking whether a provider's AEO or GEO advice is "aligned with Google Search's official guidance on optimizing for generative AI features". It also suggests asking what results to expect "and in what timeframe", and whether they'll "share with me all the changes you make to my site".
Passionfruit, an SEO firm, turned that idea into five questions for any AI search agency. It's a useful script for a first call, whoever you're calling:
Before any of those calls, test where you stand yourself. This business owner on Reddit did exactly that:
So I tested it. Across ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude - same result every time. Same competitors. We weren’t mentioned once.
That's one person's experience, not proof of anything. But it's the right instinct. My guide to running your own AI visibility check shows how to do it properly in an afternoon, and our GEO agency buyer's guide has the longer list of questions and red flags.
If you're also weighing a larger agency, read our comparisons with Exposure Ninja and a fractional CMO and with Whitehat SEO, or browse every comparison we've published.
How We Wrote This Comparison
This page names a competitor, so UK advertising rules apply to it, and you should know which ones. Section 3 of the CAP Code says a comparison with an identifiable competitor must "compare products meeting the same needs or intended for the same purpose" and must "objectively compare one or more material, relevant, verifiable and representative feature". The same conditions sit in regulation 4 of the Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008, which also bars comparisons that discredit or denigrate a competitor.
So every fact about The GEO Agency links to the page it came from, and every check is dated. I haven't repeated any of its case studies, client numbers, partner claims or testimonials, because I can't verify them, and quoting them would only repeat its marketing. Where its pages say nothing, the table says so. There are other firms with "GEO agency" in their name. This page is about The GEO Agency Ltd, company number 17123993.
