WebFX suits a B2B company that wants AI search run as a monthly programme by a large agency, with tracking across ten answer engines in its own software and the option to add paid ads, CRO, web design and CRM work under one roof. Its published tiers start at $3,000 a month on a 6-month commitment. ThriveFinity, which is us, suits a B2B company that wants AI search bought as a defined job, with a published price, a fixed list of buyer questions and a re-test of those same questions at day 30. Both firms publish prices, which makes this an easier comparison than most.
Google's page on whether you need an SEO, last updated in June 2026, now tells you to ask anyone selling AEO or GEO services whether their advice lines up with Google Search's official guidance. It's a fair question for both firms here, including us.
Facts about WebFX come from its own website and its Clutch directory profile, as published on 31 October 2026. Services and prices change, so check its site before you decide. We have a commercial interest in this comparison and we're not affiliated with WebFX. Where its pages are silent, the table says "not published". That doesn't mean it doesn't offer the thing. Ask.
Two Different Ways to Buy GEO
The two options differ mostly in size, and in what you're buying: a project or a subscription.
WebFX's homepage presents a digital marketing agency with six service groups, from AI and search visibility to digital advertising, CRO and its own revenue platform. Its About page dates the company to 1996 and says it has 750 experts on staff. The homepage lists offices in Harrisburg, Tampa, Houston, San Francisco and Ann Arbor.
GEO (generative engine optimisation) is the work of getting AI assistants to find, cite and correctly describe your company. WebFX uses GEO and AI search optimisation for the same service. I explain the term in what generative engine optimisation is.
ThriveFinity sells AI search optimisation (GEO) as separate pieces of work: a free Signal, a fixed-price AI Presence service, an AI Visibility service priced by estimate and an optional monthly AI Growth plan. We're a one-person company registered in India, based in Chennai, serving B2B companies in the UK, the US and elsewhere. We have no US office. A named verifier signs every paid report.
So the first question is whether you want a team and a platform on a monthly plan, or a fixed job with a before and after.
Side-by-Side Comparison
The table lines up what each firm publishes on the same thirteen points. WebFX's column quotes or summarises its own pages.

What WebFX Publishes About Its AI Search Work
WebFX's generative engine optimization page describes a package with six parts: a GEO audit of how AI platforms view and cite your brand, an SEO audit, an AI search strategy, AI search optimisations, SEO optimisations and performance tracking. Its core list of platforms is Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Meta AI. The pricing table counts ten answer engines, including Gemini, DeepSeek and Claude.
The Bronze tier is the most specific thing it publishes. It includes 50 prompts tracked across 10 answer engines, which the table counts as 500 tracked placements, 5 competitors benchmarked, a baseline visibility audit, a monthly visibility score, a strategy and technical recommendation plan, a dedicated OmniSEO consultant and a monthly review call. Base plans sync data monthly. Faster syncs are paid add-ons.
That's more detail than most agencies give, and I'd use it. Ask how the 50 prompts get chosen, because the question list decides everything that follows. A firm can only report on the questions it tracks.
WebFX also sells the tracking separately. Its OmniSEO page describes a platform for tracking a brand's AI search visibility across ten tools, including AI Mode, Apple Intelligence and xAI, with up to five competitors. Its October 2026 GEO cost article gives the platform's price as $45 to $899+ a month and says tracking comes with the agency service.
Google's own position is worth keeping in mind when any firm describes AI-specific optimisation:
There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary.
That covers Google's AI features, not ChatGPT or Claude. It does mean good SEO stays the foundation, and WebFX's package includes an SEO audit and SEO optimisations for that reason. Its FAQ says businesses with an established SEO programme should consider optimising for AI search.
What Each One Publishes About Price and Terms
WebFX publishes a full monthly price ladder for its GEO service, labelled Progressive Monthly Optimization with a 6-month commitment.
| Bronze (50 prompts) | $3,000 |
|---|---|
| Silver (100 prompts) | $5,250 |
| Gold (150 prompts) | $7,500 |
| Platinum | $12,000 |
| Diamond | $23,250 |
| Enterprise | $34,500 |
| Enterprise+ | $68,250 |
Source: WebFX, Generative Engine Optimization Services pricing table, checked 31 October 2026. Monthly prices on a 6-month commitment. A Global Enterprise+ tier is priced by quote. Prompt counts shown only where the page states them. Chart by ThriveFinity.
On those figures, the smallest commitment is six months at $3,000, which comes to $18,000 before add-ons. Extra prompts cost $75 a month per 50, and extra competitor monitoring costs $75 a month per 5 domains.
We publish every price on our pricing page. The AI Visibility service starts at £2,250 ($2,949), with an estimate within one business day once we know the scope, 50% paid once the scope is agreed and 50% before handover. There's no commitment beyond that one job. AI Growth starts at £2,250 ($2,949) a month, with a 3-month minimum and then 30 days' notice. For a US company, those are set USD prices, not exchange-rate conversions.
The two aren't the same unit. WebFX's tiers buy monthly tracking, optimisation and reporting for at least six months. Our AI Visibility service buys a 10-working-day diagnosis, fixes to 10 pages and 5 briefs for new pages, then a re-test. Compare the total over the period you care about, and what gets done in it.
How Each One Measures Results
Measurement is where GEO proposals differ most, and it's hard to judge on a sales call. AI tools rarely give the same answer twice.
In January 2026, SparkToro and Gumshoe had 600 volunteers run 12 prompts through ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI a combined 2,961 times. Rand Fishkin reported a chance of less than 1 in 100 that ChatGPT or Google's AI would give the same list of brands in any two responses to the same prompt asked 100 times.
So a single run of each question tells you very little. What you want is a rate, such as named in 7 of 10 runs, measured the same way before and after the work. I explain why in measuring AI share of voice.
WebFX's FAQ says it measures AI search performance across website citations, brand mentions, brand interactions, qualified leads and revenue generated. Its pricing table counts 500 tracked placements on Bronze, which is 50 prompts times 10 engines. It doesn't say how many times each prompt runs within a sync. Ask, because one run per prompt per month is a small sample for a single prompt, even if the total across prompts looks large.
We measure a narrower thing with repeats built in. We ask each of 100 to 150 buyer questions 3 times in each of five AI tools, record how often you're named, recommended and described correctly against 3 to 5 competitors, and run the same set again at day 30. We test fewer engines than WebFX does, and we don't track leads or revenue. If you need ten engines on a dashboard every month, that's a point in WebFX's favour.
When WebFX Is the Better Choice
WebFX is the better choice when you want AI search tracked and worked on every month by a large team, and you're happy to commit for six months. These are the situations where I'd point you there rather than to us.
- You want ongoing tracking across many engines. Its tiers cover ten answer engines, and OmniSEO lists AI Mode, Apple Intelligence, Copilot, Meta AI and xAI among others. We test five.
- You need other channels too. Its menu lists PPC, social ads, connected TV, content, web design, CRO, marketing automation and its own CRM. We do none of those.
- You want leads and revenue in the same report. Its FAQ lists qualified leads and revenue among its AI search metrics. We report on AI answers, not on revenue.
- You want a published monthly price you can budget against. Its tiers run from $3,000 to $68,250 a month, so you can see the cost of scaling up before a call.
- You want a large team. Its About page says 750 experts on staff.
The trade-off is the commitment. You're signing for six months of a monthly plan rather than a single job, so check what the notice terms are after that.
Questions to Ask Any Provider
Ask both firms the same questions and get the answers in writing. Google's hiring advice is a good start. It suggests asking what results to expect and in what timeframe, how success is measured, and whether they'll share every change they make to your site. WebFX's own FAQ makes the same point about guarantees, and so does Google:
If they guarantee you that their changes will give you first place in search results, find someone else.
Then add the GEO-specific questions:
- Which buyer questions will you track, and can I see the full list before we start?
- Which AI tools do you test, and how many times do you run each question?
- When is the re-test, and will it use exactly the same questions and settings as the baseline?
- What exactly will you change, and who does the work: you, or my team from your list?
- What does it cost over the full term, and what's the notice period once the minimum ends?
- What happens if a report contains a factual error?
The longer version, with red flags, is in our GEO agency buyer's guide. Before any of these calls, get a baseline of your own. My guide to running an AI visibility check shows how to do it in an afternoon.
How We Wrote This Comparison
We wrote this page because AI tools put WebFX on US shortlists. When we asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity best AI visibility agencies in the US three times each on 31 October 2026, WebFX was named in 7 of 12 answers. ThriveFinity was named in none of them.
| Omniscient Digital | 7 of 12 |
|---|---|
| WebFX | 7 of 12 |
| First Page Sage | 6 of 12 |
| Siege Media | 6 of 12 |
| NoGood | 6 of 12 |
| ThriveFinity | 0 of 12 |
Source: ThriveFinity AI-answer test, method in this section, 31 October 2026. One question, four AI models through their APIs, three runs each. A count of mentions, not a ranking of quality. Chart by ThriveFinity.
The test used the models through their APIs (gpt-5.4-mini, claude-haiku-5-5, gemini-3.5-flash and Perplexity sonar), not the consumer apps, and 12 answers is a small sample. It tells you how often a name came up. It says nothing about who does better work.
This page names a competitor, so advertising rules apply. Section 3 of the UK CAP Code says a comparison with an identifiable competitor must compare products meeting the same needs and must objectively compare material, relevant, verifiable and representative features. Regulation 4 of the Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008 sets the same conditions. In the US, the FTC's policy statement on comparative advertising encourages naming competitors, but requires clarity and, where needed, disclosure.
So every fact about WebFX links to the page it came from and is dated. I haven't repeated its revenue figures, visibility claims, awards or testimonials, because I can't verify them and quoting them would only repeat its marketing. Where its pages say nothing, the table says so.

Where ThriveFinity Fits
We fit when you want AI search work as a defined job with a known price and a measured before and after, without a six-month commitment. Every price below comes from our published pricing, shown in GBP with the set USD price in brackets.
- AI Presence Signal (free, under an hour): 12 buyer questions across GPT (OpenAI), Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, scored 0 to 100. It's automated and unsigned, and you can run the free AI Presence Signal right now.
- AI Presence (£849 ($1,099), 5 working days): a signed fact sheet, a scored audit and up to 10 profiles aligned, credited in full to the AI Visibility service if you book it within 30 days.
- AI Visibility (from £2,250 ($2,949), 10 working days): 100 to 150 buyer questions across five AI tools, your 10 highest-value pages fixed, 5 briefs for new pages, and a re-test at day 30. Signed by a named verifier, with the Accuracy Commitment.
- AI Growth (from £2,250 ($2,949) a month) or Quarterly Re-measurement (£595 ($799)): after the AI Visibility service, if you want ongoing tracking. AI Growth has a 3-month minimum, then 30 days' notice.
We're not the right choice if you need ten engines tracked every month, paid ads, web design, CRM or a large team on your account. WebFX lists all of those. We also don't buy links or placements, and we won't promise that any AI tool will name you. Our sample AI visibility report shows exactly what you'd get.
Weighing other US firms that AI tools named? We've compared ourselves the same way with Omniscient Digital, First Page Sage, Siege Media and NoGood. Every page is listed on the comparisons hub.
